At Wonder we love to spread the Christmas cheer. Whilst we believe that campaigns should be exciting all year round, there is something unique and very special about the festive spirit which makes this the perfect time of year for us to celebrate our out of the box thinking and create that everlasting sense of wonder.
Last year saw our hashtag #createasenseofwonder take the lead in our Christmas campaign, filling our Instagram and Twitter feeds. By providing our clients with a twinkly box of classic Christmas tree decorations, from tinsel and bunting to lights and baubles, we gave them complete creative control and let them go crazy with their decorative plans. When ready, they grabbed our attention by using the hashtag alongside images of their masterpieces, so all the team at Wonder could enjoy their inventiveness.
This year, we wanted something even bigger and better. And what better way to sprinkle that Christmas magic than sending in our fabulous Wonder elves?
Taking to email, Santa’s helpers contacted everybody we worked with in 2017, including both staff and clients as well as our suppliers. The mailer reached about 300 people and every lucky person was given a unique number, which has become of great importance when tuning into our social media channels. Why? Because regardless of being naughty or nice, Wonder has absorbed that Christmas spirit and is handing out gifts and treats to all our winners. With daily announcements on Twitter and Instagram our social channels have become a hub of festivity - as what shouts Christmas more than prize draws and photos of our mischievous elves?!
Not only do we want to expand our goals each year at Wonder by growing activities like our creative campaigns, we also want to include more reflections of what we got up to in the past year. After celebrating our 5th birthday party (which yes, we might still be recovering from…), we thought it essential to include a nod to this within our campaign. That’s why not only will we be presenting our daily prizes, but in honour of our 5th birthday one lucky winner will receive the grand gift of a very special 'Day of Wonder'.
As an agency, people are always at the heart of our culture and at a time like Christmas we pull together even more. Our Christmas campaign provides the opportunity to engage with everyone that Wonder has had the pleasure of interacting with in the last year. For us, simply sending out Christmas cards or plonking a bottle of champagne on desks is too mainstream and impersonal, when what we are about as an agency is continual and consistent engagement.
