These key hires bolster Wonder’s capabilities across its London and New York hubs, as the agency continues to scale in response to growing client demand and new business growth.
Following an exceptional first 1 2 months since joining Wonder as Project Director, King will now lead the projects team and serve as a senior point of contact for Wonder’s flagship accounts, including Google and Visa.
Supporting this leadership transition is the return of Marie-Clare McAleese (MC). As one of Wonder’s first employees back in 2014, MC spent six years at the agency, now rejoining as Project Director. She is currently spearheading a number of Google initiatives, having recently led their experience at Bett, and is now preparing for the Google Cloud London Summit – the brand’s 4,000-person flagship EMEA conference.
Scott Micklethwaite, Managing Director at Wonder said “Sophie’s deep expertise in flawlessly delivering complex projects, combined with her outstanding leadership skills, made the decision to promote her an easy one. As our project team expands globally, her ability to nurture talent and lead with clarity makes this the perfect moment to recognise her impact.
It’s also brilliant to have MC return home to Wonder. Her talent for steering large-scale projects is unmatched, and she has hit the ground running and is already delivering some of the most significant projects we have to date.”
Completing the new lineup is Jessie Gardiner, who joins the team as 2D Designer. Jessie brings a wealth of design expertise, having delivered projects for the likes of WhatsApp, Amazon Prime and Shopify.
Tom Maxwell, Creative Director at Wonder, said: “2026 is set to be a milestone year for Wonder, as our presence across EMEA and the US expands and our clients continue to raise their ambitions for our flagship projects. Jessie’s exceptional design talent and creative vision will continue to bring fresh perspective and meticulous detail to our growing creative team.”
