Big dreams, bold moves and bright futures

At Wonder, we’re all about helping people find their passion and giving them the chance to turn it into something amazing. We believe in nurturing the next generation of talent and opening doors for those ready to explore new opportunities. Today, we’re excited to introduce our two new interns, who’ve stepped into the world of events.

Let’s meet them and hear what inspired their journey.

  • After studying psychology and working for four years in the NHS, Cora realised she was craving something more creative and dynamic. In her words: "I loved my work, but I missed being part of a larger, creative team and wanted to see more of the world and its people." That desire for a change led her to the Event Academy, where she found a new spark in the events industry.

    So, why choose Wonder?

For Cora it was simple: "The ethics and values here really resonated with me. Wonder seems like a company that genuinely cares - not just about the work, but about the people behind it. The projects looked fascinating and I wanted to be part of that."

Her first month has been a mix of excitement and discovery. "I didn’t have any specific expectations - I like to keep an open mind. But from day one, I felt welcomed by the team, and the positive, calm energy in the office is amazing."

For Cora, the most thrilling part is being onsite at events and seeing how everything comes together. As for long-term goals? "I just want to do work that feels meaningful and creates memorable experiences for others."

And here’s a fun twist: when she’s not answering questions or learning the ropes, she’s at the pottery wheel, turning clay into works of art!

  • Leonie’s journey started in fashion retail, where she spent a decade working for a premium womenswear brand rising up to a management position within her first five years. However, last year Leonie realised it was time for something new. "I loved the creative side of fashion - merchandising, styling, organising in-store events - but I wanted to shift gears and find a new way to channel that creativity," Leonie explained.

After discovering the Event Academy, she knew the events industry was where she needed to be.

"What drew me to Wonder was the incredible range of clients and the diversity of events. It’s such a cool opportunity to work on projects across the UK and Europe."

Her first month has been nothing short of exciting, with a personal highlight being a trip to Paris for the VISA Payments Forum during the Paralympics. "It’s been eye-opening and I’m loving every minute of it!"

Looking ahead, Leonie is considering a career as an Executive Assistant to a senior leader in the events industry, but is staying open to all possibilities. And when she’s not deep in event planning? You might find her busking around London, guitar in hand, playing acoustic covers on a sunny afternoon!

At Wonder, we love seeing people pivot towards their passions and find new paths. Both of these incredible interns have done just that and we’re thrilled to be part of their journey. Here’s to embracing change and chasing dreams - because the best is yet to come.
