Leonie’s journey started in fashion retail, where she spent a decade working for a premium womenswear brand rising up to a management position within her first five years. However, last year Leonie realised it was time for something new. "I loved the creative side of fashion - merchandising, styling, organising in-store events - but I wanted to shift gears and find a new way to channel that creativity," Leonie explained.
After discovering the Event Academy, she knew the events industry was where she needed to be.
"What drew me to Wonder was the incredible range of clients and the diversity of events. It’s such a cool opportunity to work on projects across the UK and Europe."
Her first month has been nothing short of exciting, with a personal highlight being a trip to Paris for the VISA Payments Forum during the Paralympics. "It’s been eye-opening and I’m loving every minute of it!"
Looking ahead, Leonie is considering a career as an Executive Assistant to a senior leader in the events industry, but is staying open to all possibilities. And when she’s not deep in event planning? You might find her busking around London, guitar in hand, playing acoustic covers on a sunny afternoon!
At Wonder, we love seeing people pivot towards their passions and find new paths. Both of these incredible interns have done just that and we’re thrilled to be part of their journey. Here’s to embracing change and chasing dreams - because the best is yet to come.
